Should I Hire A Wedding Planner

Why Hire a Wedding Planner?

Planning all the little details of your wedding and reception can be a chore, with so many things to take care of that it can turn a day of happiness into one that is stressful. That’s why some people turn to wedding planners to help with the particulars of getting a wedding put together.

For some, it might seem like getting a wedding planner takes away the fun of working out all the details of a wedding, but in fact, these people can put the fun back into the process. If you’re not sure about whether you should get a wedding planner, you should know about the benefits they provide.

Consultant Services

Wedding planners are consultants, skilled in working out the details of a wedding, calculating costs, and executing the final plan. This does not, however, mean that they will make all the decisions for you. On the contrary, a good wedding planner will keep you involved in the process, helping to point you in the right direction for options to consider and suggesting things that might work well with your own idea of a perfect wedding. Using a wedding planner to help with your wedding doesn’t take you out of the unique experience of planning your wedding, but simply makes it more efficient.

Bringing Savings to You

While some people might balk at the idea of getting a wedding planner because it costs money to hire a consultant, you should consider the fact that a wedding planner can save you money on your wedding. As a planner develops their business, they learn where to get better products, such as your wedding flowers, dresses, and reception locations, for less money. Furthermore, wedding planners learn to be skilled in negotiation, both through dealing with demanding customers and in trying to purchase products and services, so they might be able to talk service providers down to a good deal for you.

Experience

Ultimately, what a wedding planner will bring to your wedding plans is experience. No matter how great your ideas are, no matter how enthusiastic you are about the process of planning a wedding, a wedding planner still brings experience in planning many more weddings than most have planned in their lifetimes. By utilizing the experience that these consultants have, you’ll find that the process of planning your wedding comes with fewer mishaps, fewer mistakes, and a greater focus on the relationship of you and your future spouse. And ultimately, that’s what really matters.

Flower Girl Dresses

“Flower Girl Dresses”

One very important part of any large wedding ceremony is the small couple. Not the bride and the groom but the ring bearer and the flower girl. They add a sense of whimsical abandon to an elegant wedding and everyone instantly falls in love with them. In most weddings in which these two small charmers are present, their inclusion represents how cherished they are by either the bride or groom. It’s a lovely gesture to ask the youngest members of the family to participate in the wedding and for the little girl she’ll want a very pretty flower girl dress.

flower-girl-dresses.jpg

In most weddings on any grand scale there is a color theme that runs throughout the wedding party. The bridesmaid dresses will usually reflect this as will the flower girl dress. This doesn’t have to be the case though as some brides prefer the flower girl to be dressed all in white as she is. It’s truly a matter of personal preference.

Little girls grow very quickly and it’s wise to keep this in mind when shopping for a wedding ensemble. Most bridesmaid and wedding dresses are purchased months before the big day. For the flower girl this is a bit more of a challenge as a little girl who is growing can move from one dress size to another within a few months. Therefore it’s a good idea to purchase the flower girl dress a bit bigger than needed at the time. A seamstress can easily take the dress in if it’s too large for the child as the wedding nears. It’s much easier to remove fabric from the flower girl dress than it is to try and squeeze a girl into a dress that is too small.

Shoes are also something you’ll need to consider. Again, a little girl grows leaps and bounds in short time periods and therefore you need to be careful when purchasing the flower girl shoes. It’s recommended that you wait to buy them until a few weeks before the wedding. Many bridal stores sell shoes that can be dyed to almost every hue imaginable. If you bring in a small piece of the fabric from the dress they will be able to dye the shoes to exactly match the flower girl dress.

Being chosen to take part in a wedding can be a bit overwhelming for a small child. Be certain to explain the both the flower girl and the ring bearer that you don’t expect perfection. They do need to walk down the aisle and stay quiet through the ceremony but their participation and their presence are really the most important things.

Wedding Flowers

The Importance Of  “Wedding Flowers”

A wedding ceremony is a celebration of love where a couple exchange their marital vows and express their undying love for each other.  In addition, witnessing the marriage ceremony are wedding guests and the wedding party.  The ceremony is often officiated by a member of the clergy.

Associated with the wedding ceremony are many traditions.  Some of those traditions include the exchanging of rings, the tossing of the bridal bouquet, the tossing of the  bride’s garter, wedding cake, etc.

In addition to the ceremonial traditions are various decorations that typically add to the occasion.  Some of those decorations include a unity candle, candles, appropriate wedding attire, etc.

Another popular decoration that adds to the wedding ceremony are wedding flowers.  The importance of wedding flowers can be seen as they contribute to the theme of the wedding and the various wedding flowers that are needed.

wedding-flowers.jpg

Thematic Wedding Flowers

Wedding flowers can be an important part of the wedding ceremony based on a number of  characteristics associated with flowers.  Some of those characteristics include their color, fragrance or different types of flowers available.

For example, if you wish to have a wedding ceremony that takes on a Hawaiian love theme, the wedding flowers that could be chosen may be in the form of a Hawaiian lei.  These leis could be worn by the wedding party or given to each guest.  Often Hawaiian leis are made from pikake flowers that are intertwined with other flowers such as the ilima, orchids or rosebuds.

An additional feature that flowers bring to a setting is their lovely fragrance.  Therefore, wedding flowers can be an important part of the marriage ceremony as they symbolically reflect the fragrance of commitment and love through the release of their essence.

Finally, flowers can be an extension of the color theme that is being captured by the bride and groom.  For example if the bride is wearing pink the flowers can match or accent that choice of color that permeates the wedding ceremony.

Wedding Flowers
Needed

Traditionally, there are many wedding flowers  that are needed in a typical wedding ceremony.  Those flowers that are needed include the bride’s bouquet, the boutonnieres for the men in the wedding party, the maid of honor bouquet and the flower petals sprinkled by the flower girl.

Probably the most important wedding flowers are the flowers that comprise the bride’s bouquet.  Not only can these flowers be selected for their color in order to match the bridal gown, but the choice of flowers used to comprise the bouquet are equally as important.  For example, flowers that can send a message are the forget-me-nots or the standard flower of love which are roses.  In addition, a flower that can be used is the myrtle.  The myrtle traditionally conveys the message of constant love.

Oahu Weddings

“Oahu Weddings”When I was a little girl, I used to dream about having an exotic marriage ceremony. I made all kinds of wonderful, romantic plans about getting married on the beach, and couldn’t wait for the magical day when all my dreams would come true. I know it sounds kind of corny now, but that’s really how I felt. So it should come as no surprise that once I got engaged, I knew exactly how I wanted my big day to play out. I had long ago selected Hawaii as the ideal location, so I began planning an Oahu wedding on the spot.

oahu-wedding2.jpg

At first, I thought it would be difficult to plan for an Oahu wedding. After all, I’d always heard horror stories about how much work is involved in coordinating all the different components of the ceremony. For example, I’d have to account for a florist, photographer, videographer, caterer, minister, and band for starters. That’s hard enough to do when getting married in your own backyard, so I naturally figured that it would be infinitely more difficult to work out the logistics of an Oahu wedding. Luckily for us, that definitely wasn’t the case. Apparently, thousands of couples from all over the world coordinate Oahu weddings in any given year, so it’s not an impossible task by any means.

In fact, I learned that there are special companies that could plan my Oahu wedding from start to finish. These companies orchestrate Oahu weddings all the time and have developed close working relationships with providers of all the services I would need for the big day. So instead of having to deal with a lot of different people, I’d only have to work with one person from the planning company. My fiance and I both decided that this sounded like a great idea, so we decided to hire one of these companies to handle our Oahu wedding for us.

It was so easy to plan an Oahu wedding in this way that I can’t praise the company enough! They sent us several different brochures containing photographs of various chapel and beach locations for us to choose from. In addition, we selected our flowers, cake, and reception hall in this way too. We were then able to listen to demo tapes from a variety of bands and DJs, and saw portfolios from different photographers. In short, we still had complete control over every aspect of our Oahu wedding without any of the headaches that usually come from trying to arrange all the bookings and reservations.

Our Oahu wedding turned out to be even better than anything I ever dreamed about as a little girl! I am so happy with the way everything went that I recommend this route to anyone who wants a hassle-free ceremony. To make your big day even more memorable, you should look into booking an Oahu wedding right now!

Weddings Bring People Together

Weddings
are some of the most joyous occasions in life whether it is your own or that of a loved one. It is a time to celebrate love and commitment and thanks to these sentiments, weddings often bring people together who may or may not see each other often. This makes it an even more special occasion.

When a couple plans their wedding, they create a guest list of all their friends and family. The bride and groom want to surround themselves with their loved ones on a day that they will remember forever. Weddings are the perfect time for everyone to come together and have a good time.

weddings1.jpg

Since families often live far away from one another and friends move away and start their own families, weddings are a wonderful reason to take the time and make the trip to be together. This is an excellent time for the bride and groom to reconnect with old friends and distant family. Weddings give people a reason to put their own lives aside and celebrate the love of the bride and groom.

Weddings
and the Dysfunctional Family

In the world we live in today, few families are still completely intact. There is divorce and there are personal grudges and weddings can be difficult to plan when these problems exist. The bride and groom want everyone to be with them during their wedding and they must find ways to not only get everyone to the wedding, but to also keep everyone happy.

Depending on the severity of the disagreement, many people will agree to bury the hatchet when it comes to weddings. People will set aside their own differences in order to make sure that the bride and groom have an amazing day. They may also be doing this for the selfish reason that they actually care about the bride and groom and really want to attend the wedding at any cost.

The bride and groom must consider these differences during wedding planning. Weddings are not easy to plan and throwing this wrench into the works can add a significant amount of stress. It is important for the bride and groom to speak with the guests and make sure they are willing to behave for the sake of the wedding. Once this is agreed upon, the bride and groom should try to accommodate the guests to seat them separately so they do not need to have much contact. Weddings sometimes help bring these people together and unite on common ground and perhaps even get them to talk.

Weddings are meant to be beautiful, perfect days! These days are filled with love for family, friends, and especially the bride and groom. The day should be relished and spent enjoying with friends and family instead of sorting out squabbles!

Different Wedding Themes For Your Wedding

“Wedding Theme”

If you’ve recently gotten engaged, congratulations! The fun is about to begin! Planning a wedding is exciting and stressful, so take a few deep breaths and remain flexible before you dive into the planning. Of course, one of the most important things that you need to decide before being able to make any plans is your wedding theme. Will the wedding be large or small? Indoors or outdoors? What season will it be held in? What is your budget?

Deciding on your wedding theme will obviously set the stage for what falls into place after that. All of the décor could be based on your theme. Obviously, whatever season you will be marrying in could determine the colors and décor for everything. Some couples want a standard and traditional wedding in which case, tradition is their wedding theme. Other couples want something more out of the ordinary and try to plan a wedding that is unique to them. Then, there are the couples who really plan something outlandish and make the guests question their sanity.

One of the most popular wedding themes is a fairytale wedding. The bride wants everything to be absolutely magical and centers all the plans around that. A fairytale wedding is typically held at night, has lots of twinkling lights or candles, and focuses on complete romance. Sometimes, a horse-drawn carriage takes the bride and groom from the church to the place of the reception. Doves might be released in celebration.

Holidays are often a popular wedding theme as well. It is easy to plan a Christmas or Valentine wedding. Your décor is pretty straight forward and easier to plan. While Christmas weddings can be very elegant and appealing, take into consideration your guests. That time of the year can keep some guests from attending because of other obligations. Getting married in early December may be more practical and the colors and theme of Christmas can still be used.

chirtmas-wedding.jpg

Some wedding themes involve fall leaves, spring flowers, snowflakes or the ocean. If you live within a reasonable distance from the beach, having a beach theme could be incredibly romantic. Finding decorations and favors for a beach theme is simple and can be lots of fun for guests.

Whatever you want your wedding theme to be, make sure that it is reasonable and reflects the personalities of the bride and groom. If people question your wedding theme, remember that it is your wedding and your choice. Hopefully, this will be your only wedding, so you want it to be absolutely amazing. You can make that happen. Even if your wedding theme isn’t a fairytale, you can still plan a wonderful wedding and live happily ever after.

I have found the planning your wedding is something that seems so huge when you are doing it, but once your wedding is over, you may wonder why you stressed out so much. It’s a matter of finding the right information to take some of the guesswork out of the game. For me, I found the Modern Bride magazine was a huge help.

Modern Bride has just about everything you may need. The most spectacular part of the magazine is the selection of wedding dresses. You can look through, and you will quickly begin to notice you favor one type of dress over another. This may make it a lot easier for you when you go to look at dresses. Modern Bride shows you the full range of dresses that are out there, and they even let you know where you can buy each dress. If you don’t want to buy that exact dress, you can tear out the page to take with you when you look locally.

modern-bride.jpg

You may also find tips and advice in Modern Bride that will help you make your planning process a whole lot easier. You can learn things you never knew, and tips for dealing with all of the vendors you will want to hire for your wedding. They may give you check lists, and let you know what you should do first, and what details you can hold off until a later date. You may also read the letters written by real brides with real problems who are turning to Modern Bride for advice. These may help you more than anything.

If you look in the back of Modern Bride, you can find all sorts of information and suggests about honeymoon locations. This is a great place to find out of the way spots you may have never heard of, or a place to find special package deals just for your honeymoon. You may find these listings in the back of most bridal magazines. Through the course of planning your wedding and your honeymoon, you will find that magazines like Modern Bride will always have something helpful to offer. Custom Wedding Rings

custom-rings.jpg

“Custom Wedding Rings”

When it comes to your wedding, you are probably looking for special touches to make it your own. No one wants a cookie cutter marriage, and they certainly don’t want a wedding that is a copy of someone else’s. One great way to make your ceremony special is to have custom wedding rings for you and your new spouse to exchange.

Custom wedding rings don’t have to match each other, as some people may think. Getting married is thought of as combining two lives into one, but it is also important that you keep your individuality intact if you want a happy and successful marriage. This means you can get your custom wedding rings made to your taste, and your husband or wife can choose their own. As long as the meaning behind the rings remains the same, it doesn’t matter if they match or not.

Almost any retail jewelry store will design custom wedding rings for your special day. They can be made of any material, and you will have the final say in what they finished product looks like. They may also offer the same bonuses, such as fee cleaning, when you purchase your ring through them. There are also many places online where you can get custom wedding rings made. You may find the same great service as you will at your local store, and you may find that you save some money by looking for the best price.

Prices for custom wedding rings will vary, so shop around for the best price. You may also want to consider distance if ordering online, and the amount of insurance you will want to have on your rings when they are sent through the mail. Ask the company if they will save a picture or record of the ring, in case you lose one and need to have it replaced. Custom wedding rings are a great idea not only for originality, but also for practical reasons. If you have a skin reaction to certain kinds of metal, you can be sure your ring is made from something that will not harm your skin.

When choosing a design for your custom wedding rings, you may have a hard time deciding what you want. This is when a great jeweler will be a huge asset. You can give them an idea of what you want and they can draw up designs until you find one that you fall in love with. If this is a problem, look at existing rings and find inspiration there. You may have a feeling about what you want, but finding something that is inspirational may be the nudge you need to figure out what you want in a custom wedding ring.

Celebrity Weddings

“Celebrity Weddings”

The rich and famous are not usually known for understatement. This principle applies to celebrity weddings, the bread and butter of the show business magazines. These affairs are big news, with publishers fighting each other for exclusive rights to the official photographs. Some ceremonies are tasteful and elegant and some are less so.
celebrity-weddings.jpg
Any bride and groom will know that a wedding needs good organization, something along the lines of a military operation. When your guests happen to be household names flying in from all over the world, it complicates things further. Keeping it quite is almost impossible. Details of the date and venue have a habit of leaking out. Even marrying in a remote Tibetan village would not keep the paparazzi at bay.

The recent trend is to get married in a castle. Paul McCartney, Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Tom Cruise have all had their celebrity weddings behind high castle walls. Once, they were security against medieval sieges, now they act as a fortress against the world’s press. Paul and Heather Mills married in a castle in Ireland, owned by an elderly gentleman who let the cat out of the bag. They still got hitched away from the media. Madonna and Guy Ritchie chose a Scottish pile and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes recently tied the knot in an Italian castle. This was a Scientology ceremony of course. The excited population of the small village picked for the venue was disappointed when the couple did not pose for them.

Every aspect of the proceedings carries a certain pizzazz. It starts with the engagement ring. Jennifer Lopez caused a stir with her pink diamond. The most famous ring however, is the one given to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton. It was practically visible from the moon. Brad Pitt had one made for Jennifer Aniston and he designed both wedding bands himself. (unfortunately they aren’t still together :(

There is always great excitement over the wedding dress at “celebrity weddings.” There was a collective gasp when spectators saw Princess Diana’s dress, as the taffeta creation seemed to stretch forever. The famous can get the top designers to make something unique for them. It pays to know people in high places, as when Madonna asked her buddy Stella McCartney to create her dress. Sandra Bullock combined her dress with cowboy boots, in keeping with the western theme she had.

celebrity-weddings2.jpg

The most bizarre show business wedding of all has to be the one that Pamela Anderson organized for her dogs. Her golden retriever and chihuahua took part in a moving ceremony on the beach in front of invited guests. As “celebrity weddings” go, that will probably never be topped.

Wedding Vows

Choosing the Right Wedding Vows

More people are choosing their own wedding vows rather than leaving it to their priest, pastor, Rabbi, or other religious leader to decide which vows the bride and groom should make to one another. Many more people are taking an active role in this decision.

vows.jpg
One way to choose wedding vows is by faith. For most people, getting married is a commitment of body, soul, and faith. Getting married means marrying the whole person and that person’s family as well. Therefore, making the wedding vows reflect their deep commitment to each other and the life they will build together is a good idea.

Common American Faiths

Christianity is the most predominant religion in the United States, and as a result many people prefer to vow to their future life partner in the name of God and their church. There are many faiths considered to be Christian and each individual branch may have somewhat different wording to their particular vows.

Non-denominational wedding vows will hit many of the traditional points of commitment between two people, omitting the direct mention of God in any form. People being married by judge or justice of the peace may prefer to use nondenominational vows if, religion is unimportant to them. Or this could take place if each person practices a different faith and they would prefer that neither religion was the focus of their wedding ceremony.

Jewish wedding vows are commonly given when the rings are exchanged. The focus of the vow is a commitment to be wed to that person by the laws of Moses and Israel. In addition to this is the promise of love, honor, and appreciation of each other for the rest of their lives.

Muslim wedding vows are more of a contract between two families which state the conditions desired and expected by each family and a commitment to uphold those conditions in the name of Allah.

Buddhist wedding vows give the two people an opportunity to voice their love, dedication, and future hopes for their lives together with respect given to their shared religious beliefs. Their use of meditation and contemplation to make their lives and marriage stronger is an important part of their vows to one another.

Pagan wedding ceremonies are often preformed by a priest and/or priestess, which will join the couple under the name of the deities of their preferred branch of faith within the heading of Pagan religions. Many Pagan wedding vows will require the couple to commit to each other as partners in life until love ends, rather than until death separates them.

Wedding vows are a personal choice that can only be decided by the people to be married. The bride and groom can choose traditional vows of their faith, to write their own wedding vows, or to allow the person performing their marriage to choose the vows.
