Cheap Wedding Favors

Cheap Wedding Favors
With all of the many things to consider and purchase as you are planning a wedding ceremony and reception, cheap wedding favors are very appealing. Many brides are a little apprehensive about going thrifty with this particular detail in the event. However, if you are a little creative you can provide wonderfully cheap wedding favors that seem as if they cost a fortune.

The first thing you want to do is consider your budget. There are cheap wedding favors then there are ridiculously inexpensive favors. I once attended a reception that used two Hershey Kisses in plastic wrap for each guest’s favor. Now that is obviously cheap. We really want to avoid this kind of tacky presentation.

This is not to suggest that the Hershey Kiss idea is bad in itself. The presentation just needed some work. There is a significant difference between working within a tight budget and completely disregarding the guests. Even cheap wedding favors can show that you appreciate your company if they are presented the right way.

One approach thrifty brides can take is to avoid the whole wedding theme in their presentation. Many vendors sell similar items at a fraction of the cost. Once a favor is associated with a reception party, it seems to automatically go up in price. Some great ideas for cheap wedding favors that won’t be found in the bridal supply section can help get you inspired.

Candles are all the rage these days. There is a romantic appeal to these if they are used at a reception as gifts for guests. You can make cheap wedding favors by buying votive candles in bulk. Just wrap each with some tulle and tie off with a ribbon. Of course, you want to choose colors that go with your bridal attire for these cheap wedding favors.

Frames are wonderful for this kind of project as well. Since frames come in all different styles, shapes and sizes you really have a lot of room for creativity. The great thing about these cheap wedding favors is they can serve two purposes. They can also be used as place settings as well.

While you may be tempted to personalize your items I can guarantee you that you will probably pay more for this additional detail. However, you can still find cheap wedding favors that are personalized if you search hard enough.

The Internet is a great place to start. Many sites offer wholesale items that can be personalized. Whether you want to add the personalization or not, you can find some great bargains. There are a lot of cheap wedding favors out there. All you have to do is look.

Planning a Wedding

Planning a Wedding

Stress-Free Wedding Planning

Planning a Wedding can be a very stressful time. There are too many things to plan, too many people to accommodate, and too much money being spent. It is a time when many brides and grooms feel overwhelmed and it is only but natural to feel this stress. Not a single bride or groom has even momentarily considered eloping to escape the pressures of Planning a Wedding. Luckily, there are ways to reduce the stress!

The first thing to reduce Planning a Wedding stress is to stop taking advice from everyone else. The wedding is about the bride and groom and they should be making the decisions and choosing the vendors. If someone else is paying for the wedding, then it is only fair to include his or her input into the planning, but otherwise it is unnecessary to accommodate anyone else as far as the actual planning of the event is concerned. However, it is still proper to accommodate the special needs of some guests and out of town guests. Once the bride and groom realize and commit to this, Planning a Wedding will be much easier.

Choose a Package
One of the best ways to reduce Planning a Wedding stress is to choose a reception location that offers wedding packages. These packages often include contracts with other vendors including bakeries, limousine services, florists, and photographers. These contracts are taken care of by the reception site and the bride and groom simply visit the vendor and choose what they want. There is no deposit to be made since the reception site will pay the balance once the bride and groom pay the reception site. This can reduce Planning a Wedding stress immensely.

Plan Ahead

Planning a Wedding stress can be avoided if the bride and groom plan carefully. The sooner the vendors are chosen and confirmed, the more time the bride and groom will have to focus on other tasks. Planning a Wedding does not need to take control of their lives. All major plans should be made as soon as possible since the best sites and vendors are booked early. Then, the bride and groom can put their attention into the details. This will reduce the last minute stress caused by Planning a Wedding.

The thought of stress-free Planning a Wedding seems almost unbelievable. That is because most brides and grooms who have gone through the process have been extremely stressed out. There is no reason that future brides and grooms should experience this same Planning a Wedding stress if they follow these few pieces of advice.

Wedding Ideas

Cultural Wedding Ideas Enhance And Personalize A Wedding Ceremony

Creative wedding ideas are the key element to a personalized wedding that directly reflects the life and love of the bride and groom.  When planning a wedding, it is essential that the event showcases special qualities about both individuals and projects their personal ideas about “happiness ever after”.  This special day is the day that these two individuals visually show the world that their love is unique, special and lifelong.  When planning the special day, taking time to insure that every tiny detail is in place will transform a memorable occasion into a spectacular event.

The Wedding Ceremony Combines Two Lives and Two Cultures

The most important part of a marriage is the coming together of two lives to become one.  In this way, it is valuable to take pieces from the bride and groom’s personal history and utilize it in planning the wedding ideas such as decorations, invitations, speeches, music and the wedding ceremony itself.  If the bride and groom are from different heritages, research both cultures or interview the bride and groom to discover what is important from their family and childhood that they would like to include in the ceremony.

A Scottish Flare Makes A Wedding Unique To The Scottish Bride Or Groom

For example, if the bride or groom has Scottish roots, a great wedding idea would be to have the bride and groom leave the ceremony to the sounds of a bagpipe musician.  This would follow Scottish tradition and highlight the family heritage for all of the guests to recognize and enjoy.

Many Black American Weddings Utilize African Culture In Wedding Ceremony

Another wedding idea that is gaining in popularity in wedding ceremonies is the tradition of  “jumping the broom”.  In the Western African tradition, the broom is symbolic of sweeping away past mistakes and evil spirits.  It was believed that by sweeping a broom over the heads of the bride and groom, the evil spirits could be warded off and thus the two would share a happy marriage.  In the days of slavery, marriage between slaves was illegal.  Many of the slaves came from African cultures that held a strong belief in ceremonial practices and the importance of a recognized union of marriage.  With this in mind, they created the concept of taking marriage vows in front of witnesses and then jumping over a broom handle to recognize the union. “Jumping of the broom” became the wedding ceremony that allowed their union to be recognized by their peers the union but undetected by their masters.

Taking The Time To Combine Ancestral Wedding Ideas Personalize Any Wedding

There are many different wedding ideas throughout history that signify the values, beliefs and culture differences.  When planning a wedding, insure that the ceremony is specific to the bride and groom by including wedding ideas from their history and their future dreams.

California Beach Weddings

California Beach Weddings

Having bonfires on the beach is somewhat of a state passion in California. Everyone does it. Teenagers do it to sneak away with their friends and drink beer. Their parents do it to catch up with old friends or have family outings. It is legal in many California beaches, and tolerated on most of the rest of them. As long as you are willing to keep your bonfire contained and take precautions to make sure that it doesn’t become a runaway forest fire, the Rangers will be happy to let you have it.

Because of the state passion for beaches, California beach weddings are extremely popular. I have been a California beach wedding planner for almost a year, and I have never had more business. It’s funny, but when I was a wedding planner without a specialty, people were hesitant to come to me. Now that I plan California beach weddings almost exclusively, however, people are flocking to me in droves. They assume that, because I specialize in South California beach weddings, I am much better at throwing them than anyone else. I let them believe what they want. It gets me lots of business.

california-beach-weddings.jpg

The only major drawback to my job is that I have to spend so much time driving. I have become somewhat of an expert in the field. I have been called on to plan Laguna Beach weddings, Santa Cruz weddings, and San Francisco weddings. I have done weddings literally from one end of California all the way to the other. I love doing it. The accommodations on California beaches are great, and they are really reasonable. All I have to do is make the necessary arrangements. South California beach campgrounds are always affordable, and beach access in California is ubiquitous and free.

Of course, for South California beach weddings it can help to reserve a section of beach, but you can get by with just driving to a remote location. Since I started planning California beach weddings, I have one of the easiest jobs that there is. The catering can be a bit of a pain in the neck, but coming up with the right California beach wedding decorations is always fun and easy. Best of all, South California beach weddings always put people in a good mood. There is something about having the ocean, along with good friends and good wine, that makes people feel happy with each other. And making people happy is what my job is all about.

Honeymoon Ideas

Honeymoon Ideas

When it comes time to plan your honeymoon, make sure you put more thought into it than I did. Because my funds were limited, I looked for a less expensive alternative to where I really wanted to go. I was deeply disappointed, and I wish I had put more research into my honeymoon ideas and options. When it comes to your honeymoon, you only have one. You can try to take another if you are disappointed with the first, but you will always have that bad memory to contend with no matter what happens in the future.

There are honeymoon ideas everywhere, but not all of them are good. This is what I love about the Internet. You can get great honeymoon ideas from a variety of sources, and you also have a great many places to find out just exactly what you can expect at each place. Some places put on a good show with a slick website and pictures, but the reality soon hits you when you arrive. The very best thing you can do is to read reviews by real people who have visited each place to get an idea about what they place really has to offer.

honeymoon-locations.jpg

You can look through bridal magazines for good honeymoon ideas, but remember that the ads are paid for by the establishment. The magazine has no idea if the ad is accurate, and they don’t have time to check into everything. Perhaps they should, but that is not the reality of the situation. It may seem like a dream vacation or destination, but you have to look into each of your favorite honeymoon ideas before you actually book your time there. You may not be able to get your money back if you are unhappy.

You can also talk to loved ones if you are stumped for honeymoon ideas. If you have friends or family that have recently gotten married and loved their honeymoon, they can most definitely recommend places to you, and give you the low down on what to expect. They can tell you about the rooms, the food, the activities, and may even tell you when to go. You can also find this information on message boards that are geared towards weddings and honeymoons. If someone has had a bad time somewhere, they always want to post and warn everyone who may think of going to that honeymoon spot.

Wedding Traditions

Wedding Traditions

Every Sunday you can hear those chapel bells. Some lucky couple is tying the knot and making it official. This is a time in everyone’s life that is memorable to say the least. We love this day. Ideally it should occur only one time for each person. There’s the massive cake, the champagne, the jovial crowd and the wonderful wedding traditions. These are the things we look forward to on our day of perfect bliss. The soon-to-be bride paces softly toward her one true love, the father gives her away as the two souls become one with the exchange of rings. Are you prepared for your big day?

get-married.jpg

Who doesn’t enjoy wedding traditions? There’s the ceremony itself, the honeymoon, and don’t forget the pre-celebration. This is the part that so many men look forward to. If not the soon-to-be groom, the buddies throwing the bash. Yep, the bachelor party is a king amongst wedding traditions. It may not be a literal aspect of the wedding, but it sure is a blast nonetheless. I’ve been to a total of two bachelor parties in my day. One was my brother’s and one was my best buddy’s. These were two of the craziest bashes I’ve ever witnessed. You commonly have the group of guys, the booze, and maybe a few “dancers.” Most of this celebration is about friendship and letting go of the single lifestyle. Notice that I didn’t say it’s about getting buck wild with the “dancers.” Of course girls have their versions of this as well. They lounge about sipping tea and nibbling on crumpets. Or at least this is what I’ve heard.

Probably one of my favorite wedding traditions is the honeymoon. Okay, this is definitely my favorite. This is the part where it’s finally just the two of you. Alone at last for a whopping two weeks or so. In my opinion, this is what most of the money should go toward. Although other wedding traditions are imperative, this is the most fun and personal. This is the tradition that’s solely meant for the bride and groom. It’s about getting pampered, lounging about, and dining at the finest eateries. Where wedding traditions are concerned, I highly recommend you put much thought into the honeymoon.

Wedding Garters

The Tradition of Wedding Garters

It is believed that the tradition of wedding garters is one of the oldest wedding traditions still in practice. There are a few theories as to how wedding garters came to be so popular and how they have stood the test of time.

Several centuries ago, it was believed that owning a piece of the wedding dress that the bride wore on her wedding day would bring the owner good luck. This would often end up with the wedding dress being ripped and ruined. Thus, the brides started wearing wedding garters so that the good luck could be thrown to a single guest.

wedding-garters.jpg

These days, it is tradition for the groom to remove the garter from the bride and throw it to all eligible bachelors to ensure his good luck. The bride, in turn, throws her bouquet to eligible women and that woman will be the next to marry. This varies from the tradition of centuries ago. It used to be the bride who would throw the garter to the eligible men. It is said that sometimes the men at the wedding would become too drunk and try to forcefully remove the garter from the bride. The groom would intervene and remove the garter from the bride to protect her. Thus, the groom rather than the bride threw wedding garters to the crowd.

When to Follow the Tradition of Wedding Garters

As one of the longest standing wedding traditions, wedding garters are still very popular. However, many brides are choosing to forego the tradition of having the groom remove the garter to throw to the eligible men. Many brides do not like the idea of exposing their leg to all of the wedding guests and have chosen to take a different spin on the tradition of wedding garters. However, if a bride is comfortable with the longstanding tradition, then she should include it in her wedding day.

For those brides who are uncomfortable with the tossing of wedding garters, there are alternatives. Many brides still choose to wear the garter since it has been such a staple of the wedding attire. Some brides will incorporate the tradition of “something blue” into her garter. If she so chooses, she does not need to even acknowledge the garter. Luckily, guests will not notice or care if this tradition has been left out.

Some brides will wear two wedding garters on her wedding day. This is because wedding garters become a keepsake. Sometimes they are passed down within the family or have special meaning and the bride does not want the garter to be tossed at random. In this case, she would wear the keepsake garter higher on her thigh and the other garter slightly lower. This will ensure that the tradition is carried out without losing something precious. Nobody will notice that she was wearing two wedding garters to begin with!

Wedding garters are traditions that will carry on for centuries more because they are one of the longest standing wedding traditions. It is entirely up to the bride and groom whether they choose to carry on with this tradition. Whether or not it is tossed, it is nice for the bride to wear a wedding garter to keep as a memento from her special day!

Christmas Wedding Ideas

Christmas Wedding Ideas

Christmas Wedding Ideas are plentiful so consider a winter wedding ceremony this year. You will find that it is the most wonderful and the most romantic time of the year. Snuggle up with your loved one and peruse some wedding Christmas decoration schemes.

One of the benefits of choosing a holiday like this for the season to have the ceremony is that you can save a lot of money by using Christmas Wedding Ideas because you can use your regular holiday decorations to add a little romantic spice to the event. Using items that you already own or that you can re-use later is a thrifty person’s dream-come-true.

chirtmas-wedding.jpg

You most likely will not have to decorate the church at all for the ceremony aside from a few wedding Christmas decorations here and there. The church will probably be already dressed for the holiday season so you can take advantage of the ready-made ensemble for your affair.

Other items that can be used in the church for the wedding Christmas decoration scheme are poinsettias. These beautiful flowers are lovely in bright reds and soft pinks. You may find that you don’t need to add any at the church but the reception is another story. These bright flowers can be used as wedding Christmas decoration in a number of ways.

You can use the tradional holiday flower to decorate your bridesmaids as well as the bride. They can each carry a lovely bouquet made out of this icon of holiday cheer. The tables can be filled with centerpieces created out of this flower and the plant is a Christmas wedding decoration that can go home with some of the guests as well.

The flower’s design can be repeated on the cake as well. The Christmas wedding decoration works well in just about every capacity imaginable. However, there are other great Christmas wedding decoration ideas to consider as well.

Since we are on the subject of plants why not consider decking the halls with plenty of mistletoe. This is a great option for getting the romance in the air. Instead of clinking glasses, your guests can hold up mistletoe. This makes for a great Christmas wedding favor as well for your guests.

Don’t forget the tree. You can have your presents collected under this wedding Christmas decoration instead of on a table. I love the idea of bringing the holidays together with a romantic ceremony. You are sure to remember each year with fondness.
